Zumba & food: summer fruits

1995

With the arrival of the great heat it’s time to bring on our tables the long-awaited summer fruit and food. Melon and watermelon are beginning to make his way along with peaches, apricots, plums and cherries: a world of colors as well as many vitamins and minerals, such as potassium and magnesium, to cope with the summer heat.

Yellow-orange fruits, such as peaches and apricots, provide a high intake of vitamin C and beta-carotene, which helps to prepare our body to sun exposure and to guarantee a better tan. The apricots, in particular, are also rich in iron which makes it the ideal food in case of anemia. Peaches, however, are very rich in sodium, and purify the skin. The calorie intake is about 50 kcal per 100g.

Even less calories, 30 kcal per 100g. then the melon, watermelon together, boasts the largest water content and a sweet taste. These two types of summer fruit reveal excellent be consumed mainly for refreshing properties, as well as for the richness of potassium and magnesium.

The melon also has diuretic properties and, being very rich in fiber, promotes intestinal transit.

Cherries, however, are rich in vitamin C, silicon, provitamin A, iron, magnesium and potassium, although the last three elements are present to a greater extent in the cherries.
My advice is therefore to consume the summer fruit at every opportunity, as a snack, or frullandola centrifugandola, or after a meal, or as a dessert in a tasty salad.
